Chunky

When my brain is left to wander about on its own, which is most of the time, my reasoning will begin looping like a robo-vacuum banging into the wall of a closet it's stuck in. It's fine. These errant ideas shed off for the most part and I just kick them over to the junk drawer of my mind.

"When I buy the 100% peanut NO ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS, chunky peanut butter, I drain the accumulated oil out of the top of the jar and then I start to fold in the peanut bits that have worked their way to the top while waiting for me to follow my cart into the peanut butter aisle at Dillons.

The chunks remind me of rocks and the folding makes me think of plate tectonics. What happens to the peanut-rocks is probably more like what happens to boulders in glaciers, but I like the idea of the earth's surface slipping, sliding, and folding on itself, so I go with idea that the knife is folding peanut earth.

Of course this makes me think of my friend Ulf who is a geologist, and whether or not he would prefer creamy peanut butter over chunky, plate tectonics be damned.
