Ursula's Lathe
In Ursula K. Le Guin’s novella The Lathe of Heaven, a man has the ability to alter reality through his dreams. Bad actors try to manipulate him, at first with seemingly innocuous suggestions. Dream there is no racism -> When he awakens everyone is gray. Dream there is no war -> When he awakens humanity has united in a fight against an alien invasion. In the film adaption, the aliens are dreamed harmless, and then seen randomly standing around on street corners chanting Zen koans like “To go is to come.”
That’s a long explanation for my fantasy that the Republican elite and their supporters will end up zip-tied to street lamps and bike racks throughout the country, completely reliant on the mercy of passersby for sustenance.
